Agent for Active Directory
-When the System State resource does not list the Active Directory component in the backup selections, a Granular Recovery Technology (GRT) enabled backup to TAPE and NON-GRT backup to DISK/TAPE complete successfully without backing up the NTDS.DIT database. Agent for Microsoft Exchange

Agent for VMware Virtual Infrastructure
- When using the Agent for VMware Virtual Infrastructure (AVVI), backup of a Virtual Machine (VM) running a Windows Operating System completes with an exception "One or more virtual disks contain volumes that do not support Granular Recovery Technology (GRT). - A virtual machine restore from an Agent for VMware Virtual Infrastructure (AVVI) backup set, fails with error "Restore of the virtual machine 'Virtual Machine' failed. The restore job has failed. Agent for Lotus Notes

DLO Agent Option
-When using Backup Exec for Windows Servers Desktop and Laptop Option (DLO) "Runtime error! c:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\DLO\DLOClientu.exe R6025 - Pure virtual function call" error occurs on a client when a backup runs.(For more details, please refer to this document:  http://support.veritas.com/docs/323860   )
-Backup Exec for Windows Servers Desktop and Laptop Option (DLO) after upgrading clients using the "DLOCommandu -Update" command, clients that were moved from a previous server may point back to the original server. Agent for Enterprise Vault

Agent for Oracle Servers

- Oracle backup is failing with a Corba comm failure and a TAO exception
- ORACLE: Wrong DBID appears in the restore selection of the Oracle database
- ORACLE: 64bit support of Oracle restore and recovery SCN
- DB2: Unable to restore Incremental backup of DB2 instance
- DB2: Unable to restore DB2 due to incorrect archive log association
- RALUS: Agent consumes virtual memory on Solaris 10 - possible leak
- RALUS: Unable to restore to remote mount points (0xe0008488 - Access is denied).
- RALUS: Backup job is over 10 times slower when backing up data from a Multi_Terabyte volume on Solaris
- RALUS: Agent Crashes with segmentation fault when attempting to expand root selections
- RALUS: SUID & SGID flags are not restored.
- RALUS: After installing and running RALUS 12.5 on a Dell system with a RAID disk subsystem, open files on the disk get corrupted  
- RAMS: backing up Xsan configure as Metadata Controller. Will fail with access denied when backup the volumes on the Xsan.




Backup and Restore

- Backup Exec is unable to reuse/reclaim space from OLD IMG media that are located in a Removable Backup to Disk Folder (For example DELL RDX 1000 device) and these IMG media show up under the "Backup Exec and Windows NT Backup Media" media set. Agent for Microsoft Share point Server
-Restore of single Exchange 2007 Database restores all databases in the Storage Group. (For more details, please refer to this document:   http://support.veritas.com/docs/354686  )
- Job Engine (BENGINE.EXE) terminates in MSVCR80.DLL backing up a local or remote SharePoint 2007 Search Database. ( For more details, please refer to this document:  http://support.veritas.com/docs/326881   )

Device Driver Updates
-Support was added for the Sun (STK) SL500 w/ DLT-S4 drives.
-Corrected an issue where the Backup Exec User Interface reports an incorrect first slot number for an IBM TS7530 TVL.
-Corrected an issue where when cleaning jobs were run on a Sun StorageTek L20 Tape Library it will hang at 91%, and then take the device offline while using User Mode Drivers (UMD)
-Corrected an issue were if a tape device using T10 Encryption went offline it would power back on with encryption enabled
-When a LTO3 WORM cartridge is inserted into Quantum Model B LTO3 HH SCSI drive it is not recognized correctly and no WORM backup\restore operations can be performed
-Event ID 33152 error messages are being regularly generated by Backup Exec but no functionality seems to be affected
-Orphaned pointers are being left in the Backup Exec DB (BEDB) when deleting media sets that were tied to a Media Vault rule. This then causes a migration failure when trying to upgrade to Backup Exec 2010
-Need to increase timeouts to meet Vendor specifications on LTO drives
-Adding Encryption recognition for LTO5 drives
-All successful reads and writes in the Tracer utility are collapse by default to make reading the log easier


Backup Exec User Interface

Intelligent Disaster Recovery Option (IDR)

Installation
- After installing Backup Exec or a Backup Exec hotfix, BEPerfSetup crashes. (For more details, please refer to this document:   http://support.veritas.com/docs/340973  )
- After upgrading to Backup Exec 12.5, the Backup Exec Job Engine service crashes intermittently and an EVENT ID 1000 is reported with description "Faulting application Bengine.exe,version 12.5.2213.158,faulting module MSVCR80.DLL,version 8.0.50727.3053". Agent for Microsoft SQL Servers

Post requisites

- NOTE : Once installation of this Hotfix is complete, it is mandatory that a new baseline or priming Synthetic Backup should be performed.  This will only have to be done once, until this is done, all Incremental or Synthetic backups should be placed on hold.
- A full backup is required after installing this hotfix.
- Remote Agent for Windows Servers will need to be updated after installing this hotfix.
- Remote Agent for Linux/Unix/Macintosh Servers (RALUS/RAMS) will need to be updated after installing this Service Pack
- Desktop/Laptop clients will need to be updated after installing this Service Pack.
