This error occurs when a third party application attempts to use the Windows Event Log writer to write to the application log and the path is incorrectly set in the Windows Registry. This can be confirmed by running a Process Monitor during the backup of the Shadow Copy Component. An NTBackup job will also fail when you attempt to backup these resources.
