You can use Storage Insight Add-on to perform the deep discovery of IBM System Storage DS enclosures. A successful deep array discovery provides you the following additional information on the Overview page of the IBM System Storage DS enclosure:
For IBM System Storage DS enclosure, you might observe inconsistency between the vendor data and Veritas Operations Manager storage calculation. This is because Veritas Operations Manager displays all sizes in the multiples of 1024. For example:
1 kilobyte (KB) = 1,024 bytes
1 megabyte (MB) = 2^20 bytes = 1,048,576 bytes
1 gigabyte (GB) = 2^30 bytes = 1,024 MB = 1,073,741,824 bytes
1 terabyte (TB) = 2^40 bytes = 1,024 GB = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes
The storage vendor displays sizes in the multiples of 1024 bytes, or 1000 bytes.
