Storage templates let you store the volume configuration information in the form of a template so that you can use them on other volumes.
Storage Provisioning Add-on supports only VxVM volumes. RAID5 volumes are not supported.
Only hosts with VxFS volumes are displayed on the host table. Depending on which host is selected, the disk group choices change. Only disk groups with VxVM volumes are displayed on the disk group table. Depending on which host and disk group are selected, the volume choices change.
To create a storage template using volumes
In the Veritas Operations Manager console, click Solutions.
Under Storage Provisioning, click Manage Storage Templates.
In the Storage Template overview pane, click Actions > Create Storage Template.
In the Create Storage Template wizard, choose Using volumes. Click Next
In the Create Storage Template - Select host, disk group, VxFS or volumes options panel, select a host, a disk group, and one or more volumes, and click Next.
In the Create Storage Template - Summary options panel, enter the storage template name and description. Storage template name must be unique.
Select the file system object from the left navigation tree and click the Summary, Parameters, Advanced, and DST Policy tabs to view or update the file system name, description and parameters.
If you want to select a DST placement policy for the file system, use the plus sign to add a volume. At least two volumes must be present under the file system, for the DST Policy tab to become active and let you select a DST policy.
Select the volume object from the left navigation tree and click the Summary, Parameters, and Advanced tabs to view or update the volume name, description and parameters.
Repeat steps 7 and 8 for all the file system and volume combinations previously selected, and click Save. In the Result panel, click OK.
