While performing a specific VMware machine backup, bpbkar may crash when libxm combines meta information split into multiple extents.
The Activity Monitor documents the job finishing with Status 13.

The bpbkar crashes in libxm, in some cases, caused by memory corruption.
This issue has been observed under the virtual machine having large amounts of disk space.
The formal resolution for this issue (Etrack 3956370) is included in the NetBackup 8.2 release.
If you are unable to upgrade to a version in which this issue is resolved, call into Veritas Support and inquire about EEB associated with Etrack 3956370.
