Description

Cloud Catalyst Disaster Recovery will fail if the MSDP Disaster Recover Policy Full backup expires before Disaster Recovery steps are performed.

From the NetBackup 8.1.2 Deduplication Administrator's Guide

The following are the attributes for the catalog backup policy that the drcontrol utility creates:

Schedule Weekly Full Backup and daily Differential Incremental Backup.
Backup window 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Retention 2 weeks

Action Required

When the MSDP catalog backup policy is created, the full schedule defaults to a two week retention.  This two week retention level may be too short if the cloud catalyst recovery process is not performed before the DR backup image expires.

Increase the retention level for the Full backup schedule (for example from two weeks to one month) in the MSDP (cloud catalyst) Disaster Recovery policy to avoid expiration of the DR backup before the DR recovery can be performed.
