Description

VMWare images were written to a Storage Lifecycle Policy (SLP) that was configured with a retention level of 3 (1 month) on both the backup image and replicated image. However when the image was imported on the target it was given a 1 week retention level.

 

Action Required

The formal resolution for this issue (Etrack 3983008) is included in the next release of NetBackup version 8.3.

There is an Appliance 3.1.2 / NetBackup 8.1.2 Hotfix available (Etrack 3981646) at the link located in the Related Downloads section.

There is also a NetBackup 3.2 / 8.2 HotFix bundle available (Etrack 3997921) at the link located in the Related Downloads section.

The deliverable is a binary for bptm.  It needs to be installed in the source domain on every media server that performs VMware backups that are to be replicated by AIR.
