Problem

Backup Exec Simplified Disaster Recovery(SDR) wizard is unable to connect to media server when attempting to perform recovery using remote Backup Exec server.

Error Message

"This Backup Exec server has not run any Simplified Disaster Recovery backups."

This error may come if there are no SDR enabled sets actually available in the media server. In this case, there are SDR enabled backup sets available, but while connecting to remote Media server through SDR recovery wizard, it does not connect and show the above error.

Solution

A hotfix is now available for this issue in the current version of the product mentioned in this article. Please refer to the Hotfix link under Related Articles to obtain the hotfix needed to resolve the issue.

Backup Exec 20.3 Revision 1188 Hotfix (100044342)

After applying the Hotfix 100044342 on the media server, please create your SDR media. The issue is resolved by booting from the SDR media.

Workaround:

Please use different credentials to connect to media server. Or change password of the user which you are using to connect to media server.

Use of different credentials in the same recovery wizard, after the above error message will show different error related to multiple connections. So you must reboot the SDR recovery machine and run the wizard again to use different credentials.
