Problem

In Veritas System Recovery 18, FTP Offsite Copy using the server name of the FTP server fails with 'Unspecified error.' 0x80004005. Using IP address it completes successfully.

Error Message

Error EC8F1F5B: Cannot create offsite copy for job Drive Backup of System Reserved (*:\).
    Error EC8F1F5D: Cannot create offsite copy <ftp://server_name/path/file_name>
    Error E0C10005: 
Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'Unspecified error.' 0x80004005 (Veritas System Recovery)

Cause

The issue is currently under investigation

Solution

Workaround:

Specify the Offsite Copy destination by the IP address of the FTP server instead of the FTP server name.
