Description

When displaying the Writer Status with the diskshadow tool, in Windows Server 2012 and later, the System Component [System Writer: \ Win32 Services Files] has been added.

The Files included in this "File List:" are acquired in file backup rather than via VSS Writer.

This behavior is caused by differences in the behavior of the system writer.

The System Writer of Windows Server 2012 or later is divided into the following two Components by default.

      Component "System Writer:\System Files"
      Component "System Writer:\Win32 Services Files"

For each file listed in the "Win32 Services Files" component, it will be excluded from the System State backup

target by the Windows Server 2012 system writer.
