MSDP jobs stop running after enabling the FIPS feature, followed by running the
ShowDedupPassword command afterward.
This problem occurs only on NetBackup appliances with software version 3.1.1.
No error message appears. The problem becomes apparent when backup jobs start failing.
ShowDedupPassword command is causing an internal process within MSDP to crash, preventing MSDP jobs from running.
To resolve this issue and get MSDP jobs working again, disable the FIPS feature and then re-enable it.
Note: Do not run the
ShowDedupPassword command after you enable FIPS.
This issue has been fixed in appliance software version 3.1.2.
