How to configure Oracle JDBC used for discovery and scanning

Description

For the Oracle connector to function, jdbc needs to be downloaded from Oracle (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/apps-tech/jdbc-112010-090769.html).

Place the jdbc jar file appropriate for your Oracle database here: C:\Program Files\Veritas\InformationMapAgent\connectorFramework\Oracle\jdbc\

After putting the jdbc jar file in the aforementioned location, restart the service.

Go to the Connection Center from the Information Map web portal.

Click on New -> On-Prem Connector -> Oracle

Enter the requested information for the connector.

The Oracle user used for discovery and scanning must have the following two privileges to successfully run the discovery/scan queries:

1) Create session

2) Select any dictionary

Restart the InfoMapAgentOracle service in Services.msc

InfoMapAgentOracle service in services.msc

 

To see that the connector has been discovered and is working, check the file  <install_path>\InformationMapAgent\connectorFramework\Oracle\OracleConnector.log

To see that the connector has been discovered and is working, check the file  <install_path>\InformationMapAgent\connectorFramework\connectorService\cfConnectorService.txt

To see that the connector has been discovered and is working, check the data directory path   
<data_path>\conf\

To see that the connector has been discovered and is working, check the data directory path   
<shareddate_path>\cf_local\<client_hostname>\Oracle
