For a given two node NB 8.1.x configuration with hostnames nbumaster  and nbumedia, these set of steps configure CloudCatalyst feature on the host --> nbumedia

     nbumedia must be running RHEL 7.3 or later
     Azure storage account credentials need to be available

 

The following example walks through configuring NetBackup CloudCatalyst to Azure storage account for on a Linux media server. Execute these steps on the CloudCatalyst media server.

  1. Create storage server:
    /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbdevconfig -creatests -storage_server my-azure -stype PureDisk_azure_rawd -media_server nbumedia -st 9

     
  2. Add Azure credentials:
    /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/tpconfig -add -storage_server my-azure -stype PureDisk_azure_rawd -sts_user_id <AzureStorageAccountName> -password <Key1orKey2Value>

     
  3. Retrieve the default configuration values, update them for the media server nbumedia, and then commit the configuration.

CACHE_DIR  points to the mount point on host nbumedia designated as the CloudCatalyst cache volume. In this example, an empty volume has been mounted at /msdpcloudcat


Retrieve default configuration into a temporary file
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbdevconfig -getconfig -stype PureDisk_azure_rawd -storage_server my-azure -configlist /tmp/cld_cfg.txt

     Update the following two parameters in the config file and save the file.
     V7.5 "MSDPCLD:CACHE_DIR" "/msdpcloudcat" string
     V7.5 "MSDPCLD:FS_NAME" "ESFS1" string


Commit the configuration.
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbdevconfig -setconfig -stype PureDisk_azure_rawd -storage_server my-azure -configlist /tmp/cld_cfg.txt


Create a bucket/container for storing data - these next two steps create bucket/container named  td-bucket1
     ### Create Disk Volume:
     This step is NOT needed if the bucket already exists
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbdevconfig -createdv -storage_server my-azure -stype PureDisk_azure_rawd -dv lk-azr-cntnr-01

     ### Preview Disk Volumes (to choose one from the list):
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbdevconfig -previewdv -storage_server my-azure -stype PureDisk_azure_rawd -media_server nbumedia -dv lk-azr-cntnr-01 -dvlist /tmp/cld_dvlist.txt


Create Disk Pool:
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbdevconfig -createdp -storage_server my-azure -stype PureDisk_azure_rawd -dp azure_dp  -dvlist /tmp/cld_dvlist.txt

 

### Create Storage Unit with concurrent jobs set to 20:
/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpstuadd -label "lk-CC-2-azure_stu" -odo 0 -dt 6 -dp azure_dp -nodevhost -cj 20
