Problem

Microsoft no longer allows redistribution of WinPE. Starting from System Recovery 2013 R2 and Backup Exec 2014, Veritas no longer ships the System Recovery Disk (also known as Simplified Disaster Recovery Disk - SDR Disk) with its products.

Solution

For System Recovery 2013 R2 and above, a new utility is provided to create a System Recovery Disk with the latest Windows operating system. Please refer to Chapter 3 “Ensuring the recovery of your computer” in the System Recovery user’s guide or article: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000023886 for step by step instructions to create and customize a System Recovery Disk.

For Backup Exec 2014 and above, refer to the following article: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000076213

For Backup Exec 2012 and above, refer to the following article:
https://www.veritas.com/docs/000094676

Furthermore, Veritas has now stopped distribution of the System Recovery Disk (also known as Simplified Disaster Recovery Disk) (SDR disk) with all System Recovery and Backup Exec versions. This is in accordance to comply with the Veritas-Microsoft agreement.
