Custom Filter rules for Domino Journal Archiving can be incorrectly assigned

Problem

This issue only affects custom filter rules for Domino journal archiving, and not Domino mailbox archiving.  An issue has been identified with custom filtering rules containing message author, recipient and / or direction filters that in certain circumstances could result in the rule and the subsequent action being incorrectly assigned.


What is Affected:
The following server versions of Veritas Enterprise Vault may be affected if using Custom Filters:

  • Enterprise Vault for Lotus Domino Journal  Archiving 10.0.2 and 10.0.3


How to Determine if Affected:
On the Enterprise Vault servers that are performing journal archiving perform the following:
 

a. Open Regedit
b. Browse to the following location ( HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\KVS\Enterprise Vault\External Filtering\Lotus Journaling )
c. Check for a key named 1;  with a string value of: KVS.EnterpriseVault.LotusDominoCustomFilter!KVS.EnterpriseVault.LotusDomino.CustomFilter



d. If the key exists then proceed to the Solution section.

Solution

This issue is formally resolved in Enterprise Vault 10.0.3 Cumulative Hotfix 1 with Hotfix https://www.veritas.com/docs/000017582 and Enterprise Vault 10.0.2 Cumulative Hotfix 2 with Hotfix https://www.veritas.com/docs/000017681.

If Running Enterprise Vault 10.0.3
