Problem

Items that have been archived by Enterprise Vault 11 SP1 and then subsequently synced to Virtual Vault via an incremental sync show do not show any recipients in the TO: or CC: fields.  Items synced by a full sync are unaffected.

To which version of Veritas Enterprise Vault (EV) can this hotfix be applied?

This hotfix can only be applied to the following versions of Enterprise Vault: 

Enterprise Vault for Exchange 11.0.1 Cumulative Hotfix 1, build 11.0.1.3527

Cause

The JournalStub table within the Vault Store database contains information on message attributes, such a recipient and sender data.  For affected items, the RETO tag is missing from the database field within this table.  As a result, the Vault Cache\Virtual Vault incremental sync does not obtain the required information from this table to populate the To: column for these items.

How to Install this hotfix:

1)  Stop all Enterprise Vault services.
2)  Once all services are stopped, take a backup copy of the file listed in the table above, locatable in the Enterprise Vault installation folder (which by default is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault").
3)  Copy the updated file, packaged in this hotfix, to the Enterprise Vault installation folder, replacing the original.
4)  Start all Enterprise Vault services.
Note: previously synchronised data will not be repaired. A Vault Cache partial reset is required to rebuild the .MDC file post-application of this hotfix in order to correctly populate the 'To' and 'Cc' fields for items that have been affected.
How to Uninstall this hotfix:
1)  Stop all Enterprise Vault services.
2)  Once all services are stopped, take the backed up copy of the file listed in the table above and replace the hotfixed file, locatable in the Enterprise Vault installation folder (which by default is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault").
3)  Start all Enterprise Vault services.

 

This issue has been addressed in the following release:
Enterprise Vault 11.0.1 CHF2
