Resolution: A review of the server list on the masterserver indicated the media server was not included.  After adding the mediaserver's hostname to the master server's server list, the backupsucceeded.

Adding a server entry with the Admin Console:
- Within the NetBackupAdministration Console, expand NetBackup Management and then HostProperties in the left pane
- Under Host Properties, click Master Server. Then, click the actual master server name in theright pane. This will bring up the host property screen for themaster.
- Under the Serverstab/section, identify the servers that appear. Ensure that the media serverin question is listed.
- Click OK on the propertypage
- Services on the master servermay need to be restarted for this change to fully take effect.
