Problem

BUG REPORT: When using Storage Lifecycle Policies (SLP) dup manager in nbstserv may create zombie nbdelete processes when calling 'nbdelete -allvolumes'.

Solution

Bug: 1448201

Symptom(s):
When using Storage Lifecycle Policies (SLP)dup manager in nbstserv may create zombie nbdelete processes whencalling nbdelete -allvolumes.

The number of nbdeleteprocesses running on the master will continue to increase as nbdelete iscalled.

Log Files: n/a

Workaround:
The zombie nbdelete processes can manually be killed by the pid number associatedwith the process.

Veritas has acknowledged thatthe above-mentioned issue (Etrack 1448201) is present in the version(s)of the product(s) mentioned at the end of this article.  Veritas iscommitted to product quality and satisfied customers.  This issue iscurrently  addressed in the following release:
  • NetBackup6.5 Release Update 4 (6.5.4)
