Dave Russell, Gartner
Dave Russell is a Vice President and Distinguished Analyst at Gartner, where his research focus is on storage strategies and technologies, with an emphasis on backup/recovery, snapshot and replication, SSD/flash optimization software, software-defined storage (SDS) and storage management. Mr. Russell covers both distributed and mainframe storage solutions. In addition, he covers the overall storage capabilities and portfolios of many of the industry's top providers as well as emerging providers and also focuses on how CIO objectives and priorities cascade down to I&O and the storage teams.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Russell spent 15 years at IBM in storage product development as a software engineer in mainframe storage and as a manager of product development, architecture and strategy teams for distributed systems storage solutions.
Ana Pinczuk, Veritas
Ana Pinczuk is Chief Product Officer at Veritas. In this role, she is responsible for driving our $2.5 billion products organization, including the Veritas Information Availability, Information Management, Backup and Recovery and Appliances portfolios.
Previously, Ana led the Veritas Backup and Recovery business where she was responsible for driving market-leading backup and recovery solutions that allow customers to solve their challenges of access, agility, and risk, and harness the power of their information.
Prior to joining Symantec, Ana led the Global Enterprise Theater (GET) Services Sales group at Cisco Systems, where she was responsible for global services sales to Cisco’s top enterprise accounts. During her tenure at Cisco, she held various roles including Services COO and Transformation leader, where she led the transformation Cisco’s Global Technical Center, a global team of 3000 professionals delivering technical services, defining the service experience, and partnering with Cisco Engineering to ensure product excellence. Ana also spent nine years in the Cisco Development Organization driving Engineering groups, including Cisco’s high-end routing platform and IOS software development.
Ana started her career at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a systems engineer and held numerous roles there, including Vice President responsible for deploying AT&T’s Internet backbone.
Ana is a member of the International Women’s Forum, Anita Borg Institute, Cornell Computer and Information Sciences Advisory Board, and Carnegie Mellon Engineering Advisory Board. She is also the recipient of numerous awards including the 2016 Women of Influence Award, 2016 HITEC 100, 2014 Corporate Index (Top 25 Hispanics), 2013 Latina Style Executive of the Year, and 2013 TWIN Award.
Ana holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, a Master of Technology Management degree from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School, and a Master of Science Degree in Software Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Ana lives in the San Francisco bay area and is married with two sons.
