Proven archiving solutions
Powering SMB to Large Enterprise
The choice of more than 31,000 customers worldwide, Veritas archiving solutions are used by small to medium-sized businesses (SMB) and the largest enterprises, across key vertical and horizontal industries.
Whether you deploy on-premises with Enterprise Vault, in the cloud with Enterprise Vault.cloud or in a hybrid configuration, our technology is proven, enabling organisations to retain relevant, meaningful information.
Veritas is the only vendor to be recognised as a leader in the Gartner "Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Information Archiving", for 12 consecutive years.
Centralised retention management
Storing information relevant to your organisation
Establish a fundamental foundation for information retention management with Veritas archiving solutions—Enterprise Vault and Enterprise Vault.cloud. Through highly customisable policies, scan applications and automatically migrate information to an archive to support legal, regulatory or compliance requirements.
Classification with Enterprise Vault supports assigning unique retention to unstructured data—for example, Microsoft Office files—and in the case of Microsoft Exchange email, use optional data classification services to filter what is actually retained and tag archived email for faster search or supervisory review. Archiving also provides significant storage predictability by helping organisations reclaim primary storage and keep applications at predictable storage levels on-premises or by leveraging unlimited storage in a cloud archiving service.
- Flexible on-premises, cloud or hybrid deployment options
- Mailbox and journal archiving for Exchange, IBM Domino
- SMTP or IMAP archiving other email platforms
- Support for SharePoint archiving and file systems
- Partner ecosystem for other sources, such as social media
Improve IT operations
Conquer PST files and complement backup
Regain control over PST files by storing them in a purpose-built archive. If you're on Office 365 or have imminent plans to migrate email to Exchange Online in the cloud, take advantage of free import of up to 2 gigabytes of legacy PST data per Enterprise Vault.cloud or Enterprise Vault Enhanced.cloud user purchased for the first year of your contracted term.
If you're keeping email on-premises, use advanced migration tools with Enterprise Vault to systematically locate and ingest PST files. Centralise pesky PST files in the archive—where they are searchable and discoverable—while still providing seamless access to your end users. Also, remove PST data from primary file system backups, protecting the valuable information within the Veritas archiving solution.
Archiving helps remove stale, not-recently-accessed data from primary applications, such as SharePoint. By doing so, you decrease the storage footprint of these applications, which helps improve both backup and recovery performance.
In addition, archiving enables you to use your backup solution for its original purpose—protecting your data.
Backups are for recovery, archiving is for discovery.
Customer success: Clarke Power Services, Inc.
Using archiving to reclaim email storage
Clarke Power Services provides maintenance services for commercial vehicles across the United States. Using Veritas Enterprise Vault, this customer reclaimed more than 700 gigabytes of email storage space and took control of a growing problem with PST files. The archiving solution also helped boost productivity by reducing the amount of time employees spent on email quota management.
Cloud email archiving
Reduce costs, change budget allocation to an operating expense, and free staff to work on more strategic projects.
Enterprise Vault.cloud can archive both cloud mail, such as Microsoft Office 365 or on-premise resources, such as Microsoft Exchange and Lync instant messaging or Skype for Business, and it can also archive data in cloud-based storage systems like Box.com.
Veritas eDiscovery and supervision options improve productivity and fulfil compliance requirements.
Customer success: VHB
Using archiving to reclaim email storage
Headquartered in Watertown, Massachusetts, VHB is an engineering consulting firm that uses Veritas Enterprise Vault.cloud to help reduce administrative overhead, simplify information retention and improve searching and eDiscovery performance.
Hybrid cloud archiving
Both Enterprise Vault and Enterprise Vault.cloud can support a mixed cloud and on-premises environment for unstructured data. Use cloud-based storage from Amazon and other providers as an archive storage tier for Enterprise Vault or move Enterprise Vault workloads to Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms. Customers may opt to administer their archive instances or rely on Veritas and authorised partners for managed services.
Simplify your search
Archived information: Ready when you need it
As an IT administrator, when you get a call to recover a lost email or file, what's the first thought that comes to mind? Is it "not another one" or something similar?
Archiving helps make your life easier by retaining your organisation's unstructured data, such as emails and files, in a central repository. Archived emails and files are not only available to support eDiscovery requests or internal investigations, but are also seamlessly available to users.
With Veritas archiving solutions, empower users to access their archived information when and where needed via robust searching capabilities.

Customer success: CDCR
Empowering legal staff with Veritas eDiscovery Solutions
California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is the largest state-run prison system in the United States. Unstructured data compliance requirements
Both public and private organisations have growing obligations to one or more sets of data regulations.
General data retention regulations for public entities and private industries such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, energy, transport, telecoms, manufacturing and others, mandate the preservation of records for specified periods of time
Additional requirements for employee supervision are dictated by the U.S. FINRA, Dodd-Frank or European Union regulations for organisations that trade financial instruments or commodity contracts require supervision of employee activity and communications
Many organisations need help managing the cost and complexity of staying in compliance.
Customer Success: Antelope Valley Hospital
Improving eDiscovery and retention through cloud archiving
Based in Lancaster, Calif., Antelope Valley Hospital relies on Veritas Enterprise Vault to help improve eDiscovery processes and reduce storage costs for unstructured data, such as email. The hospital will also look to Enterprise Vault.cloud to help enforce information retention across the organisation.
Data compliance and supervision solutions
Veritas Enterprise Vault and Enterprise Vault.cloud help organizations easily automate policy-based classification and retention management for a broad range of compliance regulations. Through journal archiving, Veritas archiving solutions create indexed, manageable records independent of the mail system. This enables you to implement a policy-based framework for retention and deletion, regardless of user behaviour.
Veritas Enterprise Vault Compliance Accelerator automates role-based review of communications by appropriate supervisors, as required by industry regulations or internal mandates, while preserving a procedural audit trail.
Veritas AdvisorMail, an option for Enterprise Vault.cloud, provides email and instant messaging supervision ideal for highly-regulated organisations with WORM storage requirements.
Global data privacy rules are changing
Being prepared brings more benefits
Rules and regulations around how data is captured and used have increased dramatically. The European Union is overhauling its 1995 Data Protection Act with changes that could affect organisations in any global location. Taking proactive Information Governance steps now could improve your risk posture, lower your exposure to potential fines, and innovate your information management operations.
Archiving as a foundation for information governance
Leverage archiving to implement retention management as part of your Information Governance plans. Archiving helps you create automated policies to control retention and expiration, so information is retained for only its meaningful lifecycle, helping reduce business risk and exposure. Use classification where available to assign unique retention rules to information and store only what is required in the archive to help meet legal, regulatory or compliance requirements.
