Rick Villars Vice President, Datacenter and Cloud,
As Vice President, Datacenter & Cloud, Rick Villars is a senior member of IDC's IT Infrastructure research team, which assesses the development and adoption of solutions for datacenter transformation and exploitation of rapidly evolving technologies in the areas of Big Data and Cloud. He develops IDC's viewpoints on the evolution of converged IT infrastructure as well as the adoption of public and private cloud solutions. He advises clients on the impact of open systems, software and network efforts on organizations' infrastructure, deployment, procurement, and management practices.
Mr. Villars is a frequent speaker at industry and Wall Street conferences. Most recently, he spoke to IT managers in the US, South American, and Asia on compute and storage solutions for the "cloud," managing storage capacity growth associated with Big Data analytics, and the impact of converged IT solutions on datacenters and IT staffs.
Mr. Villars has spent over 25 years at IDC assessing the emergence of network, storage, and server solutions as well as advising companies on the impact of the Internet and information growth on existing IT and general business practices. He has a bachelor of science in Foreign Service (B.S.F.S.) from Georgetown University with a concentration in science, technology, and international affairs.
Tad Brockway General Manager, Azure Storage, Microsoft
Tad Brockway is a 19-year veteran of Microsoft and is currently the General Manager for Microsoft Azure Storage which is the core data durability service for the Microsoft Azure cloud. Azure Storage includes support for object storage, file storage, and virtual disks for IaaS VMs.
Tad has been a member of the Azure Leadership Team since 2011. Prior to joining Azure, Tad spent the earlier part of his career in Windows Server in various engineering leadership positions.
Tad has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and an MBA from the University of Washington.
Mike Palmer Executive Vice President, Chief Product Officer,
As CPO, Palmer is responsible for driving Veritas’ $2.5 billion products organization, which includes the Veritas Information Availability, Information Management, Backup and Recovery, and Appliances portfolios. Prior to this role, Palmer was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Veritas’ Solutions for Data Insight and Orchestration organization, where drove the strategic vision for bringing Veritas Information Availability and Insight solutions to market.
Palmer has extensive leadership experience across diverse roles and technology areas, with companies ranging from startups to the Fortune 20. He joined Veritas from Seagate Technologies, where his responsibilities as Senior Vice President and General Manager (GM) of the Cloud Services business unit included engineering, product management, sales and marketing, service and operations, and profit and loss management.
Prior to Seagate, Palmer spent nine years with Verizon in various leadership positions. These ranged from Vice President and GM of Cloud Information Technology Solutions and Security, to leading Global Engineering, Product Strategy, and Alliances – and serving as Chief Marketing Officer. Before that Palmer spent eight years in leadership positions at Totality Corporation (which was sold to Verizon) and Xuma.
Palmer holds a bachelor’s degree in Developmental Biology from the University of Rochester in New York. He speaks Spanish and Swedish and has extensive experience working abroad.

Lynn Lucas is Chief Marketing Officer at Veritas. She leads the global marketing organization and is responsible for all aspects including the customer experience, corporate positioning and communications, brand and digital strategy, orchestrated demand generation, and regional marketing.
A seasoned and innovative CMO with a reputation for driving marketing strategies that grow awareness and business impact, Lynn brings more than 20 years of B2B marketing experience to Veritas. Her experience ranges from large, high tech enterprises to cloud-focused mid-sized organizations. Prior to Veritas she served as Chief Marketing Officer of Good Technology where she relaunched their brand, developed new messaging and positioning, and delivered sales pipeline through integrated demand generation programs, ultimately culminating in the successful sale of Good in the highly competitive mobile security market. Before that Lynn was with Cisco Systems, where she served in various executive roles, most recently as Vice President, Global Collaboration Marketing. At Cisco she led successful marketing strategies for a $5 billion portfolio that spanned a wide range of market audiences and Cisco business units.
Lynn holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
