As a valued Veritas partner who offers our solutions and services to your customers, we are updating you on the important progress we made last week in operationally separating Veritas from Symantec Corporation.
On October 3rd Veritas completed the operational separation from Symantec. This prepares us for the legal separation later this year when the sale of Veritas to The Carlyle Group is expected to be completed. The strategy to create a business focused on our customers’ information management challenges led to the decision to separate Veritas from Symantec. Now, we can focus on the unique needs of this business.
It's time to streamline operations and strengthen our portfolio
Over the past year, we’ve been designing an independent company with over 8,000 employees and $2.6B in revenue to tackle the biggest challenges of information availability and insight for critical IT environments like yours.
We are excited to continue this work by enhancing our leading solutions in areas such as backup, appliances, information governance and availability, while developing completely new solutions to address today and tomorrow’s most vexing IT problems.
Now that Veritas has operationally separated from Symantec, any communications will come directly from Veritas. The Veritas.com web site and specific resources dedicated to your needs have launched. You should experience only slight changes to your account managers representing Veritas, as those adjustments were made earlier, over the course of this past year.
The final steps in separating Veritas from Symantec will occur later this calendar year, which is when we expect the sale of Veritas to The Carlyle Group to be completed. At that time we will begin a new chapter in the history of Veritas, when Veritas will be an independent company and legally separated from Symantec.

This partner program will represent continuity in how you work with us, but is optimized for information management. Our partner program is designed to help our specialized partners differentiate in the market and win. It’s time to show our partners how winning with Veritas will unlock enhanced rewards - so more partners can earn more, and more predictably - by growing and closing business in information management.
- Greater opportunity to earn greater rewards – more predictably: we have enhanced the Growth Accelerator Rebate by introducing a 3-step payout, increasing high growth accelerators and simplifying the quarterly payout. As a qualifying member of Veritas Partner Force, you have the opportunity to be paid from the first order and as you grow more, you can be paid more. Paying you from transaction one, while increasingly rewarding growth provides you improved predictability and consistency in running your business.
- Get paid on bigger deals: we have increased the Opportunity Registration cap from $500K to $1M, while maintaining the current payout rates. So as you create and register bigger Veritas deals with your strategic customers, you are rewarded for that commitment and that business.
- Win by specializing in information management with Veritas: for our skilled and committed partners, it’s never been more compelling to achieve platinum status and differentiate. We’ve reset requirements to two expert competencies, and removed the customer reference requirement. We will be replacing it with Customer Partner Success to turn the requirement into useful sales tools to showcase your customer successes.
As we optimize our information management focused partner program, we are taking the opportunity to do the same with our distribution strategy. We are currently evaluating modifications to our distribution program to help our distributors be better positioned, differentiate themselves in their market and drive value to our mutual customers. More details will follow on distribution programs post separation. Our goal is to have distribution partners positioned to help reseller partners to differentiate in your market and drive value to your customers. Symantec Partner Program – EMEA annual compliance review September 30th 2015
In May 2015, Symantec granted those partners that did not meet the then-current requirements for the Symantec Partner Program annual compliance an extension to September 30th 2015 to become compliant against the Partner Program criteria applicable at the time of the compliance review. Regarding the Veritas Partner Force Program, a partner’s achievements will be reviewed against the Veritas Partner Force Program criteria which is available on PartnerNet and the Veritas Partner Force Program page.
By October 15th 2015, Veritas will communicate to these partners their applicable Veritas Partner Force Program tier. Subject to enrolling in the Veritas Partner Force Program, this program tier will then be valid until April 1st 2016.

Setting Up Veritas as a Vendor in Your Systems
You can now access all of the Veritas Vendor Setup Forms. If you order directly or require more information about Veritas as a manufacturer/supplier, please visit this page to download the relevant PDF for your Veritas Selling Entity, Region & Currency. These forms cover standard Vendor Setup information such as addresses, ordering contact details, bank remittance information, billing contact details, etc. If you require more detailed information than is provided in the Veritas Vendor Setup Form please contact your Distributor or Partner Success Manager, or one of the Support Contacts listed below under “Contacting Veritas”
Outstanding support from Veritas is a click or call away. New Veritas telephone numbers, webpages, and other online resources were effective on October 3rd, while Symantec business and product support will not change. Open support cases for Veritas products as of October 3rd will continue to resolution, but you will receive new Veritas case numbers to track status.
