When you upgrade from any earlier version of Veritas System Recovery to Veritas System Recovery 16, the previously defined backup jobs, job history, log files, settings, and so on are no longer available.

Problem

The defined backup jobs, job history, log files, settings, and so on are no longer available when you upgrade from any earlier version of Veritas System Recovery to Veritas System Recovery 16.

Cause

Post upgrade, backup jobs defined and configuration files of the earlier version of Symantec System Recovery are not copied to the new VERITAS folder.

Solution

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:
  1. Go to Start > Run and open Services.msc.
  2. In Services window, right-click the Veritas System Recovery service and then click Stop.
  3. Copy the following files or folders from the C:\ProgramData\Symantec\ folder and replace them in the C:\ProgramData\Veritas\ folder.
  • File Backup
  • RPAM
  1. Copy the following files or folders from the C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec System Recovery folder and paste them in the C:\ProgramData\Veritas\VERITAS SYSTEM RECOVERY folder.
  • CommandFiles folder
  • History folder
  • Schedule folder
  • <MachineName>.sv2i
  • MtChng.dat
  • RemoteComputers.xml
  1. Go back to Services window, right-click the Veritas System Recovery service and click Start.
  2. Open the Veritas System Recovery Console. All the previously defined backup jobs, job history, log files, settings are now available.
