Problem

Support for RHEL 7.1 has been introduced with SFHA 6.2.1 Maintenance Release (MR)

RHEL 7.1 is not supported with SFHA 5.x, 6.0.x, 6.1 and 6.2 due to incompatibilities with the kernel update. If used, some SFHA kernel modules may fail to start up.

Solution

Support for  RHEL  7.1 has been introduced with  SFHA 6.2.1  Maintenance Release (MR)

If this is a new installation of SFHA, the installation can either be in the traditional multi step approach (Install SFHA 6.2 base s/w, then SFHA 6.2.1) or a single step using Install Bundles. Below is an example of running a single step installation of 6.2 & 6.2.1 using Install Bundle.

1) Download SFHA 6.2 software and extract to a directory </dir/6.2/>
2) Download SFHA 6.2.1MR software and extract to a directory </dir/6.2.1/>
3) Execute the install_mr utility specifying the base 6.2 s/w location

/dir/6.2.1/rhel7_x86_64/install_mr -base_path /dir/6.2/rhel7_x86_64

4) Follow the on-screen installation & configuration instructions and complete the installation

For more information on Install Bundles refer to the 6.2 installation guide for your product and the  SFHA 6.2.1 Installation Guide

If upgrading an existing SFHA 6.2  deployment from RHEL 7 to RHEL 7.1, upgrade to SFHA 6.2.1 first, then upgrade the O/S to RHEL 7.1. If the O/S is upgraded first (RHEL 7 -> 7.1) some errors will be observed with the SFHA 6.2 modules, until the 6.2.1 s/w has been applied.
