The company had only 6 months to move to its Linux-based SAP HANA platform, while continuing to support Windows for other applications. It needed a data protection solution for all its data.
The company enlisted the help of a Veritas Partner to install and configure NetBackup on the manufacturer’s HPE servers, including setting up storage lifecycle policies (SLPs) that automate backups and output to tape. A NetBackup Data Protection Optimization Option license reduced the storage footprint needed for backups.
There’s less stress for the small backup team: DBAs can launch restores from HANA Studio without involving them. Most data is now backed up to disk rather than tape. And the new data protection solution makes it easier for the company to scale its operations.
