In case of storage failure, application IOs to the mountpoint inside container fails and pod goes into CreateContainerConfigError or Error state (4011219, 4014758, 4015259)
If application pod is using PVC for persistent storage and if storage failure occurs, then the application I/Os to the corresponding mountpoint inside the container fails and the pod goes into the CreateContainerConfigError or Error state. This issue occurs because Kubernetes and the CSI plugin does not detect any storage failure to reschedule the pod. Therefore, even if the storage failure is resolved, the application pod remains in the same state as the old disabled filesystem does not get remounted.
Workaround: Manually restart the application pod after the storage failure is resolved.
