Filtering emails and collaboration messages of cases for review

To filter emails and collaboration messages of cases for review

  1. On the eDiscovery tab, select Cases in the left pane to view a list of cases.

    If you are an eDiscovery Administrator, you can view and manage all the cases. However, if you are a reviewer, Advanced eDiscovery lists only those cases that are assigned to you.

  2. If you have the required permissions, the Hide Completed check-box is available above the case list. To list only the active cases, select the check box.
  3. Search for and select the required case from the list.

    Under the Cases node in the left pane, a case_name node appears for the selected case.

  4. Under the case_name node, select Review Set. The Review Set then lists the associated emails and collaboration messages for review. You can view emails and collaboration messages in the following scenarios:
    • When the emails and collaboration messages are directly assigned to you.

    • When you are one of the assigned reviewers, and the Allow Shared Reviews check box is selected while creating a Review Set.

    From the list, you can select emails and collaboration messages to review their content. You can perform actions on a selected email such as change its review status tag, apply a message legal hold, or apply a new tag.

  5. Open a Review Set to filter the emails and collaboration messages based on filter criteria. Select the filters you want to apply. See the following table for more information.

    Subject

    Note:

    This filter is applicable for Emails only, and not applicable for Collaboration messages.

    Enter the subject of the email you want to search in the review set.

    From

    Note:

    This filter is applicable for Emails only, and not applicable for Collaboration messages.

    specify name of the email sender.

    Has Attachment

    Note:

    This filter is applicable for Emails only, and not applicable for Collaboration messages.

    Click the field to include emails that have attachments.

    Assigned To

    Note:

    This filter is applicable for Emails as well as Collaboration messages.

    Click the field to include emails that are assigned to the respective reviewer.

    Labels

    Note:

    This filter is applicable for Emails as well as Collaboration messages.

    Click the field and select the required labels, to include only the emails that have the selected labels applied.

    Review Status

    Note:

    This filter is applicable for Emails as well as Collaboration messages.

    Click the field to include emails that are having the corresponding review status.

    Include Review Set

    Note:

    If you select the All option under Review Set, this filter is applicable for Emails as well as Collaboration messages. However, if you select an individual review set, this filter is not displayed as it is not applicable for an individual review set.

    Click the field and select from your list of review sets to include only the emails from the selected review sets.

    Attachment Type

    Note:

    This filter is applicable for Emails only, and not applicable for Collaboration messages.

    Select the attachment type from the drop-down to include emails having that attachment type.

    To reset filters, click Clear and select appropriate filters.

  6. Click Apply

    The Emails tab displays the filtered emails, and the Collaboration tab displays the filtered collaboration messages.
