Problem

After upgrading Veritas InfoScale Storage 7.4.2 to 8.0 on Windows Server 2019, EMC disks are no longer visible in Veritas Enterprise Administrator if EMC PowerPath is installed on the system. 

 

Error Message

Messages similar to the following may be present in the vxisis.log under C:\Program Files\Veritas\VERITAS Object Bus\logs:

Cause

This issue occurs due to a change in the Veritas Volume Manager disk initialization process in InfoScale 8.0 as compared to that in InfoScale 7.4.2.

 

Solution

Patch  Patch_8_0_00002_0_4066339 is created to update  the disk initialization process in InfoScale Storage 8.0 in order to avoid this issue between the Veritas DSM and EMC PowerPath in the same environment:
