Description

To migrate the CloudLink server to a new server, and maintain all current configuration and task data, the CloudLink.sdf needs to be copied to the new server.  Please follow the below steps to properly migrate:

1) Turn off the ArchiveTools CloudLink Server Service on the old server.

2) Install CloudLink and all prerequisites on the new server.

3) Turn off the ArchiveTools CloudLink Server Service on the new server.

4) Copy the following two files from the root of the installation directory (i.e., C:\Program Files\ArchiveTools\CloudLink\) on the old server to the installation directory on the new server:

  • CloudLink.sdf
  • ArchiveTools.Cloudlink.Server.exe.config

5) Turn on the ArchiveTools CloudLink Server Service on the new server and open CloudLink.

6) Go to the Configuration tab and select Start Configuration Tasklist

7) Get to the next screen by selecting Directory Synchronization Configuration and then either the Microsoft Active Directory Synchronization or the IBM Lotus Domino Directory Synchronization radio button

8) On the Specify CloudLink Service Account configuration step re-enter the password. If the IBM Lotus Domino Directory Synchronization radio button has been selected on the previous page, this page will not show the message "Please specify the service account you would like for CloudLink to access Microsoft Exchange".  All other information and fields will be the same.

If this isn't done an error "Key not valid for use in specified state" will occur on the next configuration step when attempting to register the domain controller:

CloudLink stores a hash key value of the CloudLink service account and server name in the CloudLink.sdf database file. If the password isn't re-entered the cryptography validation will fail on the new server.

9) Complete the remaining configuration steps and select Finish
