Error Message
How to extract the saveset and SIS parts of a specific archived item using EVSVR
Solution
Note: In previous versions of Enterprise Vault is was possible to retrieve savesets with Outlook by double clicking the saveset. This method of retrieving savesets is not supported for Enteprise Vault 8.0 SP2 and later. The supported method for retrieving savesets in Enterprise Vault 8.0 SP2 and later is to use the Dumpsaveset command in the Enterprise Vault Storage and Repair Utility (EVSVR). This method will also work for savesets that were initially created in previous versions of Enterprise Vault and then subsequently upgraded to Enterprise Vault 8.0 SP2.
- Open EVSVR from the Enterprise Vault program directory (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise vault).
- At the EVSVR prompt type "Interactive" and hit Enter.
- At the prompt use the following syntax to specify the Vault Store or Archive ID & the Saveset or Transaction ID:
EVSVR Command> DumpSaveset <VaultStoreIdOrArchiveId> <SavesetIdOrTransactionId> [-o <OutputFolder>]
Example:
EVSVR Command> DumpSaveset 1AE070FEE58BF034E9044837B64B8531D1110000Server.EV.com 200910190000000~200910181230300000~Z~60F067D0EC593298674C7AC7F4960F71 -o C:\Test
Note: If OutputFolder is not specified, EVSVR creates a folder under the Reports folder into the Enterprise Vault Installation Directory (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault\Reports)
- Open the output folder specified to view the extracted files.
