How to uninstall the private/hotfixes from a local system

Solution

To uninstall the hotfixes that are installed on the system, you can use any of the following method:


I] Using the Windows Add Remove Programs:

To view the fixes that are installed on the system,
1.     Open the Windows Add/Remove program or Programs and Features.
2.     Click View installed updates.
List of all installed fixes appears.
3.     Select the fix that you may want uninstall.
4.     Click Uninstall.

II] Using CLI
The Veritas Hotfix Installer, VxHF, enables you list the fixes installed on the system. This utility is included with all the private/hotfixes, and is extracted at the following location:

on 32-bit system: "%CommonProgramFiles%\Veritas Shared\WxRTPrivates\<Private_Number >
on 64-bit system: "%CommonProgramFiles(x86)%\Veritas Shared\WxRTPrivates\<Private_Number>
To uninstall the fixes, run the following command:

vxhf.exe /uninstall:<Private_Number>

The installer provides you the step-by-step details through the uninstallation process.
You can run the installer to uninstall the fixes silently to skip the details.
To uninstall the fixes silently, run the following command:

vxhf.exe /uninstall:<Private_Number>/silent

Log location
The installer creates and stores a log file (VxHF.TXT) at the following location: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Veritas\VxHF
