Tracking of sis parts in the databases

Hello together,

I’ve got a question regarding the tracking of sis parts.

From my understanding Enterprise Vault tracks dvs files in the watchfile table of the vaultstore database.

But where do we track the dvssp and dvssc files?

The membertables of the fingerprint database contain a column named “secured” but the watchsispartfile table in the vaultstore database doesn’t contain something like this.

What I want to do is:

I have an old item in the journalarchive table where backupcomplete is 0 and I want to find out why it’s still 0.

The corresponding entry in the watchfile table shows itemsecured = 1.

So I made a dumpsaveset to see which sis parts are inbound.

I used the characters after the ~ of the sis parts to identify the membertable on the fingerprint database – took a look at this table and found a fitting id with secured = 0

I’m not sure how to proceed further.

Sharing is configured for the whole VSG and items stay in the original location until backup is complete

What's the issue you're solving for?

look at the attribute of the dvssc file and see if it has changed. You'll have to add the column in windows explorer

Hi Andrew and Jimmy,

I am trying to solve monitoring event 41108 "new items awaiting backup or replication" for 6118 entries. Sharing is configured for two vaultstores in one vaultstoregroup. The partitions in these vaultstores give me the information that there are unsecured items in other partitions. There is no partition with "unsecured items in local partition".

@Jimmy - Did you mean the archive attribute? we are not using the archive attribute - triggerfile is configured.

Didn't find an answer to my question but we solved the problem.

Found an internal document from technical support which shows a way to clear these entrys.

We verified every entry in the watchfile table to check which sis parts have the secured flag and following manually set the secured flag.

I think I should not post the step by step instructions here. I suggest opening a new Veritas case. .
