Continuing with our cadence of delivering regular product updates to our customers and partners, we are excited to announce the availability of Backup Exec 15 Feature Pack (FP) 3.
Feature Pack 3, available today via TechNote, includes support for Google Cloud Storage and significant performance improvements for VMware and Hyper-V virtual machines that enable you to decrease the size of the backup and perform faster VM backup and recoveries.

Backup Exec’s Cloud Connector (introduced in Feature Pack 2) now enables customers to use Google Cloud Storage as an alternative to tape when choosing long-term storage of backup data. Additionally, Backup Exec Data Lifecycle Management (DLM) capabilities can manage when and how information is moved from online disk to Google Cloud Storage.
Improved virtual machine capabilities:
Additionally, we’re making your job easier with a new Configuration Validation feature, which allows you to view any configuration related issues right from the home page. Along with identifying the nature of the issue, this feature also suggests the possible change in the configuration to solve the problem.

Availability: As previously mentioned, Backup Exec FP3 is available via TechNote today. This feature pack will be available on FlexNet and Trialware in approximately 5 days. Availability via LiveUpdate is currently planned for the week of January 4, 2016.
