Problem

If a recovery point file name has special or localized characters, upload of the offsite copy to Amazon S3 or Microsoft Azure fails in Veritas System Recovery.

Error Message

The following error messages are displayed:
Error Details EC8F1F5B: External copy of Azure job can not be created.
Error EC8F1F5D: Can not create external copy //Azure:azure:azure.com/test02/WIN-K1MSDO51STH_E_Drive002.v2i.
Error E0C20001: Error EBAB03F1: The following operating system error occurred when the requested operation was performed: 'Unspecified error.' (UMI: V-281-3215-8027)

Cause

Veritas System Recovery OpenStorage plug-in does not accept special or localized characters.
 

Solution

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:
  1. When you define a backup job, on the Backup Destinations panel, click the Customize Recovery Point File Names link.
  2. In the Customize Recovery Point File Names dialog box, click Rename.
  3. In the File name field, remove special or localized characters and click OK.
