Problem
A scheduled duplicate job (setcopy job) intermittently fails with 0xe0009444.This issue is not observed if "Duplicate data immediately after source task completes" is selected for the schedule of the duplicate task.
Error Message
Final error: 0xe0009444 - The requested source duplicate backup sets catalog record could not be found. Perhaps the media containing the source backup sets was previously deleted.V-79-57344-37956

Solution
A hotfix is now available for this issue in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned in this article. Refer to the Hotfix link under Related Articles section in this article to obtain the hotfix needed to resolve the issue.Backup Exec 15 Rev 1180 Feature Pack 4 ( 000097855).
WORKAROUND:
To work around this issue, perform either A) or B)
A) Select "Duplicate data immediately after source task completes" for the schedule of the duplicate task.
B) Manually duplicate the backup set.
1) Go to [Backup and Restore] tab.
2) Double click the source server.
3) Select [Backup Sets] from the left pane.
4) Select the backup set to duplicate.
5) Click [Duplicate] icon at the upper ribbon.
6) Set [Run now], the target storage, the retention period and other storage options, then click [OK].
7) If the manual duplicate job failed, create new duplicate job again.

5) Click [Duplicate] icon at the upper ribbon.
6) Set [Run now], the target storage, the retention period and other storage options, then click [OK].
