Problem

No images show up for a restore when there are valid images in the NetBackup catalog on the master, but it does display directories and files.

Error Message

No images to restore from.

Solution

This errorindicates that either the

/usr/openv/netbackup/db/IDIRSTRUCT

C:\ProgramFiles\VERITAS\Netbackup\db\IDIRSTRUCT

file on theNetBackup master server was wiped out, or was changed to have a 1 in the fileinstead of a 2.

This filedetermines the directory structure used in the NetBackup Images Catalog. Itdenotes whether the directory structure used to house the images for eachclient, includes the 10-digit date directories or not.

UNIX:

Images may not show up inthe restore GUI if saved under /usr/openv/netbackup/db/images/<clientname>/<image files> instead of /usr/openv/netbackup/db/images/<client name>/<10 digit datedirectory>/<image files>

"1" means DO NOT USE the datedirectories. "2" means USE the date directories.

The solution is toperform the following:

1.  Ensure that NetBackup is notrunning
2.  Edit the IDIRSTRUCT file so that it contains2
3.  Move the images from /usr/openv/netbackup/db/images/<clientname>/<image files> to the respective /usr/openv/netbackup/db/images/<client name>/<10 digit datedirectory>/<image files>.
4. Restart NetBackup and trybrowsing backups for restore again.

Once this is done then all the imagesare seen and available for restore.

WINDOWS:

Images may notshow up in the restore GUI if saved under C:\ProgramFiles\VERITAS\NetBackup\db\images\<client name>\<image files>instead of C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\db\images\<clientname>\0969000000\<image files>

"1" means DONOT USE the date directories. "2" means USE the date directories.

The solution isto perform the following:

1. Ensure thatNetBackup is not running
2. Edit the IDIRSTRUCT file so that it contains 2
3. Move theimages from C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\db\images\<clientname>\<image files> to the respective C:\ProgramFiles\VERITAS\NetBackup\db\images\<client name>\<10 digit datedirectory>\<image files>.
4. RestartNetBackup and try browsing backups for restore again.

Once this isdone, then all the images are seen and available for restore.
