Problem

Auto-detected Agent-less Managed Computers within Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager(SCOM) 2007 may be configured within the incorrect Proxy information.

Solution

DESCRIPTION:

When using SCOM 2007 within a Root Management Server (RMS) environment, the MOMHelper.exe utility will only function on the RMS itself.
When the RMS is clustered, the MOMHelper utility needs to be installed on all physical nodes that can host the RMS group.

In order to properly detect Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) created Virtual Servers (VS or VSN), the latest VCS Management Packs (MPs) must be installed. For further information regarding the latest Management Packs, please see the Related Documents section below.

RESOLUTION:
After the MOMHelper and the proper Management Packs have been imported into the SCOM environment, if the Agent-less Managed Computer is detected, but the Proxy is set for the RMS and not the correct Proxy Server, please use the following steps in the SCOM Management Console to ensure the Proxy is updated to use the correct physical node, which is currently hosting the VCS created Virtual Server.

  1. Go to Administration pane within the Management Console
  2. Select Administration->Device Management-> Agentless Managed in left pane.
  3. Select the Virtual Server in middle pane.
  4. Use Change Proxy Agent action to update the Proxy to the node where Virtual Server is online.
