Unable to sort information in "All Media" under storage tab for Backup Exec 2012.

  •  Run “Media Summary” report. Save the report in Microsoft Office Excel Workbook (*.xls) format. Sort the data as per the requirements.

I do not consider this a "solution."  It's 2013 and I still can't sort by columns on any screen...what was the point of providing clickable columns if they don't sort?  This is pre-school programming, gents.  But, considering all the other issues of usability *not* addressed, yet, by Symantec--it's a paralysed product, imho.  Totally regret the day I upgraded.  If the major usability issues are not fixed by SP2...I'm gone from the flock.  You will not get my 2013 maintenance re-up.  Period.  Who was the numbnuts who decided for B2D that "appendable" doesn't really mean appendable, btw?  lmao.  I've got gobs of unusable disk space tied up, now, in backups I can't afford to delete.  Don't even get me started on the "reports" that don't work.

My complaints have nothing to do with a revamp of the GUI or even process of backups being redesigned--the product doesn't work.  It doesn't allow admins to do their jobs.  Basic necessities are hidden behind the GUI--couldn't even see my individual media in the GUI without a registry hack!!  It's been way too long for a giant company like Symantec to address these numerous faults.  You have the resources to fix this in a month, but it stretches into the next year.

Very useful.

Especially when you get "There were no records that met all criteria requested." while trying to generate report.

This is a rather annoying bug.  It's almost as if they didn't even call the sorting function in BE 2012.  The entire sort and filter button is grayed out and it lets you pick a sorting criteria, but just ignores you when you actually try to execute the sort.

And to claim this will not be fixed with a patch or hotfix, but may be addressed in the next major relase is absurd in my opinion.

Due to some problem fromth  Backup Exec 2012 upgrade, we are unable to run this report.

It appears the report is trying to run with a list of "media sets" are are from the "old" Backup Exec and are not picking up anything from this "new" media pool.

So we are major stuck since we have run out of backup space and have no way of knowing what sets are where and which ones we can manually delete. 

While this item is listed as "Minor Functionality" for those who can run reports, for us this is a major problem since we can not manage our backup data.
