Hardware Compatibility GRT Restore Requires Staging

On the hardware compatibility list, it shows that GRT Restore from NAS with CIFS connectivity would require staging .

Can you provide an example of what staging entails?

For example, if I am restoring an email from an Exchange mailbox from a NAS, what is required?

It means that the entire Information Store needs to be put on a local disk, by default the C: drive, before the restore can begin.  If your Information Store is 1TB, then 1TB of disk space on the media server is required.

...the ENTIRE Information Store is required to restore 1 mail. If you have a normal, local B2D (ie. drives local to the server or iSCSI) then staging doesn't happen.

Thanks!
