Add permission to archives - sql?

Hello all,

EV9.x environment. Static environment (read-only), no Exchange targets anymore. Users can still use EV shortcuts to open items, and have access via IE to Archive Explorer and Search.

EV runs in Domain A, as are the users.

Users are going to be migrated to a new domain. They will get a new id. The question has been asked how to make sure that users can still access their archives. For this to work, I need to add DomainNew\xxx to archives.

Using EVPM would be nice, but as there are no Exchange servers anymore, I cannot use that.

Adding the permissions manually is an option, but for 40.000 archives not very fast :)

Adding permissions via SQL would be nice, but I have no idea if and how this can be done.

If anyone has an idea on how to add the new account to an existng archive using SQL, I'd be gratefull. If other options are possible, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any hints/tips/advice.

Gertjan.

Regards. Gertjan

Hi Gertjan,

I read that permissions on SQL tables are encrypted. So, I don't believe can manually give permission via SQL. Refer - https://www.veritas.com/community/forums/sql-query-6
