In this article I will show you how to restore your backed up files to alternate server. Redirect restore is very usefull in case your source machine is unavailable and you have very less RTO.
Following are the steps for redirect restore
Please refer following technote for Redirecting a restore to different client machine in Netbackup.
http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO43883
Thanks,
Good Info
From BAR GUI..we can restore on any clients provided tht all conditions hold true like normal restore.
ONLY for user initiated restors above procedure holds true...like oracle DB restore on alternate client.
- I suggest to stop netbackup client services from source machine. To make sure that restore activity is running only on alternate host.
You can NOT be serious!!!!!
There is NO NEED for this!
- In Netbackup console create new file with the name of No.Restriction file. Also make sure this file is not associated with any file extenstion. like (.txt or .doc)
NO need for No.Restrictions if restore is initiated on Master Server.
Only needed for client-initiated restores and is clearly documented in NBU Admin Guide I.
